An Eastern Orthodox couple from Dallas, Texas (Josh & Marie Jordan) hope to put their talents to the test to fund a film about the humble servants of the church. El Tonto Por Cristo, or "The Fool For Christ," is now completed filming, but often the most grueling, expensive, and lengthy process is editing and post-production. This is where the film is now.
The film's site is down below.
About the origin of the story, as stated in the description for this funder,
"'El Tonto Por Cristo' was born during a lunch date with Jess in downtown Dallas at the tail end of our film festival run with our first feature, This World Won't Break. As Eastern Orthodox converts, we craved something cinematically that enveloped the Orthodox faith's beauty, mystery, and oral tradition but set in America. We couldn't find what we were looking for, so I decided, with fear and trembling, alot of research, a priest consult, the prayers of Saint John the Wonderworker, and the blessing of our Bishop, His Grace Bishop Gerasim, to set sail on this marvelous adventure.
In regards to the making of the film...
"'El Tonto Por Cristo' became and is a whimsical tale about a holy fool at a mythical monastery on the coast of Texas. It stars Matthew Posey (True Stories, Magnificent Seven, No Country for Old Men), Jordan Walker Ross (The Chosen, 1883), and Frank Mosely (Freeland, The Ghost Who Walks), with Barry Corbin and Jonathan Jackson. We filmed this picture in Dallas and surrounding areas, including St. Seraphim Cathedral and Nativity of our Lord Monastery in Kemp, Texas. Actual accounts of the lives of saints and monks of the Eastern Orthodox Church inspire this script."

They are at about half ($12k) now of the needed funds of $25k to finish the film.
Often these films are funded and supported based upon previous work, and this is no exception. The trailer for their first film, This World Won't Break, is down below.
This film This World Won't Break has already been completed, but this team needs additional funds to fund this new story, El Tonto Por Cristo, about men of faith, which is now in post-production.
