Headlines state that Jeremy Boreing steps down as CEO. This actually looks to be true, but read on... because there's more to it!
I think for many, they hoped that Jeremy Boreing would leave The Daily Wire, and would go away because they don't like him. Nor do they like the company which keeps getting wins against the overtired liberal institutions in our country. They can't stand this! Also, I hear that they don't like that he supports Ben Shapiro... is it because he is Jewish?
It's sad, but for some people, sometimes it's just that simple.
But from the news today on The Daily Wire website as well as on X, Jeremy is continuing his difficult work at the company... but specifically shifting to entertainment efforts. Yep, that's the big news. He was already a co-CEO, not the full-on CEO, as he shared these duties with Caleb Robinson since 2019. Nor has he not been known to leave CEO efforts before. He took a similar hiatus before to work on Pendragon Cycle. His focus had been film from the beginning (before DW, even), though when he signed up he knew what kind of company DW was (a political media and e-commerce-centered news journalism company), and so he focused on these news and politics efforts most of all. He's said as much about his role before.
But shifts are happening, and now things have changed. As I view it, this may have been their plan all along– we do not know.
Here is DW's article. You may need to have a subscription to DW to read it.

On Jeremy's X, he mentions an Axios article about his change of job duties as DW, but that article acts like he is leaving the company.

But no, Boreing has not left. And apparently he has seen (as have we here at Media Moses seen) the need for him & DW to shift directions, specifically on entertainment. This is a need we have noticed and mentioned here on this news outlet many times.
In a way we are very relieved and happy that this is taking place.
Here's why.
Many spread false rumors that DW is falling apart since Candace Owens "parted ways" with DW (likely due to Owen's support of Kanye West, Nick Fuentes, & antisemitism). But they seek a win at all costs so they can put points on the board against DW.
Many others also spread rumors that because things didn't work out with Brett Cooper that the company is failing, and that the Snow White and the Evil Queen film (starring Cooper) is cancelled. Apparently these folks do not know how movies are made. A film studio or production company does not need Brett's continued approval in order to make a film with her likeness or recorded performance. Once the deal is made and the film has been shot that's it. Only a force majeur of some sort (or something like bankruptcy) could stop it after that.
That's obviously not happening.
In my view this means that DW needs to "strike back" with something very simple– some news on their entertainment efforts moving forward. There is NO risk and no negative side to offering an update about how well they are moving forward with their projects. It could even be done in a tweet. There is only positives & rewards in store for informing the public on this.
Disney's Snow White is making news, so now is the time for it. But so far, DW's Snow White is VERY late on offering updates, neither on IMDb, nor in any standard trade publication. It was due out last year. A company that makes millions per year, likely more than 200 million per year, can take five minutes out to offer an update.
Pendragon Cycle was also due in 2024. Editing such an involved project, as these high quality shows tend do be, can take half a year, especially with effects. But it's been over a year now... and no update. I did enjoy the BTS of the show, and it did prove to me that DW has some quality entertainment efforts simmering on the pot, but a year for an update is a bit long.
Thankfully DW's documentary work is fairly robust, but not quite as robust as the guy who made a doc incubation effort with barely no money and is building up numerous filmmakers now. Michael Pack, the guy who made the doc that got sold to DW (Created Equal) has already been incubating numerous short docs in only a short time (with multiple filmmakers, no less). So, why not DW+?
Bentkey, as a kids streamer, has been licensing great work for over a year, and they haven't slowed down. So, why has DW's entertainment efforts been almost silent over the entire 2024 year? It's enough to bother any entertainment-focused subscriber of DailyWire+.
Supposedly, DW was also working on an optioned Ayn Rand project, Atlas Shrugged. This was last updated over two years ago, I think.
Here was our article on it.

So, let us hope that Boreing has some upcoming news in the next week to give us some hope that DW's entertainment efforts haven't completely snorted up somebody's nose. If Boreing, who is still acting as a host on the (monthly) Daily Wire Backstage show, that would also be a great time to give an extensive update on entertainment efforts, though this will take far more work on his part. Still, it would be worth it, and maybe now he will have time to put this together.
Let's hope that Jeremy understands the challenges ahead, and can employ people like Dallas Sonnier, Travis Mills, Ryan Whitaker and other blooming and growing filmmakers to get even more done for DW that Jeremy can't possibly do by himself!
.....
Did you enjoy this update on former CEO, Jeremy Boreing? What do you think about DW's entertainment efforts? Do you agree with us that hopefully this means they are doing more now? Let us know down below (with sub) or on our social media!
