Many have done some good, but I wish that were the end of the story. The truth is that many... even more than those who have done good in the battle for culture... have remained quiet.
An enormous number have remained apathetic (or rather, pathetic) about so many of our western culture's heroes being mangled and morphed into some form of propagandistic message to suit Hollywood's agenda. I have found this pathetic fence-sitting to be the biggest contributor to Hollywood's evil ideology spreading around the world.
But, in the aftermath of Amazon's The Rings of Power giving JRR Tolkien's beautiful work the "re-imagineering mock up" that so many in Hollywood gloat over, it may be possible that C.S. Lewis' work (in particular) may be taking a turn for the better. This is yet unconfirmed, but since the Christians who know better are beginning to defend truth and goodness, by defending CS Lewis' legacy, the patient may still be exhibiting signs of life.
It's barely holding on...

It was announced some time ago that Netflix purchased the rights to CS Lewis' series of books, The Chronicles of Narnia, and many aggressively good people aggressively responded... by yawning. That was bad enough for me, because I know Netflix' reputation for rewriting history in favor of their agendas (or even making films sexualizing children). Not to mention, they are die-hard Hollywood ideologues who are prime corruptors, like Disney.
I was in opposition right away, but it didn't stop there. After that they hired newly popularized feminist director, Greta Gerwig, waiting in the wings of her success with Barbie, a mockingly proud feminist film. I was now starting to speak up more, because my worst fears were being confirmed. But the kinds of responses I saw were minimization of these concerns.
I mean, who cares about "feminism"? I do. Whether you're in Hollywood or in the most conservative churches, feminism is seen as innocuous to people who never truly study it, or its roots. Of course, we should all just "accept" what these ignorant people say about it, right? After all they might be our bosses, or our pastors... Sounds like a personal problem.
How about, "no." How about backing up your cause for inaction with actual knowledge of their agenda? Feminists have already established that their agenda is to divide family for political causes. At this point, I'd find it virtually impossible to believe that you or anybody in America didn't know that.
So, being as I understand a bit about feminism, and about Hollywood, and how it works, I know exactly what will happen next... feelers (in the form of news announcements) will be "put out" by these producers of the Netflix series (Gerwig or another producer) to see just how much feminism they can get away with.
Cultural Marxism at its best, taking a long march through the institutions.
So what do we have? The Netflix show announced and confirmed that they are working to get a woman (the famous Meryl Streep) to play Aslan, the self-sacrificing patriarchal God-like lion who stops the evil White Witch in the first book.
Textbook ideological feminist move. Instead of this kind of textbook, they should take this opportunity to read The Chronicles of Narnia for real, instead. As should we.
Because, this was not a coincidental idea, nor innocuous act, nor harmless innocent jest. This particular test was likely THE MOST controversial decision they could make, to literally substitute the God of Narnia (who is meant to be "a type" of the Christian God, Christ, himself) with a woman. There is no greater way to insert, in particular, satanic ideas into this film. You could race swap or sex swap ANY other character... and it would come off as child's play in comparison with sex-swapping God himself.
Yes, this is highly disturbing, but this is how Cultural Marxism works, and many who do not know this also do not know that this ideology is also religious in nature, as it is completely coherent (with the brand of thinking) and consistent with satanic ideals.
The intentional oppositional posture against Christianity, at its core thinking of submission to Christ, through love, is literally a satanic ideal. And feminism does this on an intimate familial... a sexual level.
So, I complained in my podcast, which you can watch here, and I complained on my twitter. Of course we won't get any traction on these platforms, so barely nobody will see it.

I complained before this in other places as well, of course. This was only my most recent and overt report on this issue. Nevertheless, to me the battle was going to be lost... unless others could somehow get involved.
But, finally, someone who is respected in faith-based establishment media steps up... Ted Baehr of Movieguide! Thank goodness he actually knows the story and was well acquainted with how important CS Lewis' legacy is, because this kind of knowledge and this kind of affirmation of truth is getting more and more rare today.
As stated, people today tend to want to stay pathetic. But sometimes the old dogs got the right ideas, and this one has a petition! But we need to sign it if we want it to make a difference!

It will take a new breed of person, on the Christian cultural battlefield, to understand these issues more so that we don't waste so much time on the importance of these decisions. They are important, and they need real warriors who can stand up. We don't want to be the only ones.

Also, The Trent Report, who writes for Bounding Into Comics, has Michael Grumbine (from The One Ring and Chesterton's Gateway podcast) on to discuss C.S. Lewis' wishes regarding Aslan, and as it comes to the wishes of fans.
One great thing about the conclusion these guys (John Trent & Michael Grumbine) come to is that they demonstrate that many people are starting to realize this action by Gerwig and Netflix (and Hollywood, by extension) as more than an ideological corruption, which can amount to ignorance. They say, instead, that it bears more resemblance to a religious fervor of kinds.
What religion, might we ask? Good question.
I hope we can all see that this has become a religious war between Marxism (including their satellite "faiths" which turn themselves into gnostic ideological cults that covet power), and the traditional western practice of Christianity. Feminism is a sub-cult under these satellite gnostic cults, which is used to divide the Christian faith by corrupting it's power centers, from state power all the way down to the home. Every home.
However, we can know all these things, and discuss them endlessly, while doing nothing, if we do not have love. So, we hope that Trent, Grumbine, and The Collision have all acted as well as spoken! Please, do so as well!

If we aren't careful we can all be caught unaware, because we trusted the wrong people to champion our values, when we have no legitimate reason to believe such a thing. For example, the Into the Wardrobe show on YouTube has championed Greta Gerwig as director, believing all the Hollywood hype that a feminist like Gerwig can respect the traditions of our Christian faith.
Then they got punched in the gut.
Don't trust the ideologues or you'll have to admit you were wrong all along.

Sure, some will say, "Yeah, but he didn't come to earth as a lion." Snarky, are you, indeed. No, he didn't. But Aslan, as an allegorical character, isn't just representing a male human (in the form of Jesus Christ), but he is also representing the lion of Judah, a strong figure of wild, untamed strength and regal power. Female lions certainly are strong, and often hunt, but they don't have manes, being sexually dimorphic. Nor are they called King of the Jungle.
This decision by Lewis was not unintentional, and it dishonors him to change it, no matter what our "current beliefs" are. We can still read history, and still have the freedom to do so. We can still travel the Serengeti. And we can still read old books, that haven't been edited by liberal academics. Can we not?
The question remains, however, if we can still honor our parents as the Ten Commandments (and Christ) demands of us. For if we cannot, than there is far worse wrong with us than our inability to know what a male lion is. For it is to not know that a lion can (and will) kill and eat us for lunch... as long as this male (or female) reading this article signs petitions.
For Narnia!!! For Aslan!!!
